Kuantan & Temerloh Food Hunt

Assalamualaikum/Hello!

Since lama sangat dah tak ber-holiday, I forced ask my husband untuk bawak g holiday. Our last holiday was Koh Samui kalau tak silap, ages ago. *__*

I was looking for a short getaway je, either to Melaka, Port Dickson or Kuantan. Since dah berzaman my husband was talking bout his used-to-be-kampung, we decided to go to Kuantan. I mean he used to stay in Temerloh but nothing much to explore there, so Temerloh was just a pit stop for food and then we headed to Kuantan.

It was a last minutes plan, woke up and lets go holiday! We planned to have breakfast at Restoran Azhar Nasi Lemak Sotong, but we arrived during lunch hour, the nasi lemak shop already closed. So we headed to Restoran Nasi Ayam Maju. Owned by Chinese but my husband said it is halal. His favourite nasi ayam since school. Nothing can compare to this, he claimed! For me, it was pretty nice except the sambal. I prefer the other hainan chicken rice sambal such as the one in Bukit Bintang or Uptown Damansara.

Then, YES EXACTLY AFTER NASI AYAM, we went hunting for Mee Mamak! Again, the best he claimed compared to the mamak in KL. There were 2 shops and he barely remember which one so we decided to buy from both shops. One was from Old Town (top pic) and the other one (bottom pic) was from the shop opposite Old Town.

We tapau sebab still kenyang! Both are nice and what I can say is, both are not same with the one in KL. I can eat this even with no chicken etc. Yea I know Mee Mamak not supposed to have chicken etc, but the one in mamak KL, I need those chicken else I cannot eat it. Rempah or tumisan dia guna pon lain dari mamak2 KL. Serious sedap!

We arrived in Kuantan around 6pm and checked-in at Vistana Hotel. Used to stay here before and now the hotel look was a major different from the past. Very nice and clean! Modern room design and everything were pleasant to us.

So for dinner, we dont feel like eating anymore. Remember we have 2 Mee Mamak earlier, we ate once we checked in.

Tapi rugi la kan kalau x keluar jalan2, makan2.. We decided to go for seafood kat Tanjung Lumpur. You can see many restaurants along the road. Pening nak pilih, and finally we decided to choose Mail Ikan Bakar. Ramai jugak la orang that time even dinner time dah passed. We went around 9pm+. Again, since kami masih kenyang.. kami hanya order 2 lauk je and 1 pinggan nasi. Hihi. Seriously too full!

Our menu that nite, sotong bakar and udang telur masin. I can say rempah sotong bakar kat kedai Mail Ikan Bakar ni not badddd compared to Ana Ikan Bakar (I have bad food experience here, Bangi punya). Nak cerita lebih2 tak pandai sangat review makanan ni, but boleh rasa la ingredients dia. Sedap! Total price we paid was around RM57-+.

Okay, will continue on next post. This on seems pretty long already. Hihi. :)

xx!
